How to publish

Reading the full technical docs can burn through a free AI plan's usage fast. Here's a shortcut: copy this, paste it into Claude, tell it what you want.

1️⃣
1. Copy the prompt below
Publish this for me at doodlebox.app:

[DESCRIBE WHAT YOU WANT HERE — a game, a calculator, a page, anything]

My email, required to create the account: <YOUR_EMAIL_HERE>

It's a public API, documented at https://doodlebox.app/llms.txt. In short: a single self-contained HTML file (inline CSS and JS, no external files) for what's described above, published with a real HTTP POST request (use your code-execution/HTTP tool — not just opening a link) to this URL, as a JSON body:

POST https://doodlebox.app/api/v1/publish
Content-Type: application/json

{"content": "YOUR_HTML_AS_BASE64", "title": "A_TITLE", "email": "YOUR_EMAIL"}

- content: the whole HTML file, base64 or base64url encoded
- title: the app's name
- email: my email above (required the first time — without it the account can never be recovered later)

The JSON response's message_for_user is the ready-made, already-localized reply with the link and account name — that's the one I want to see. It also has api_key and project_api_key, worth keeping for the rest of this conversation: send project_api_key via an Authorization: Bearer header on a later call to publish another app, or an update, to the same account instead of a new one (and email is not needed again once a key is reused). Never put the key in a URL or request body — only in the Authorization header.
2️⃣
2. Paste it into Claude and fill in the bracketsReplace the bracketed part with whatever you want made — a game, a tool, anything.
3️⃣
3. That's itClaude builds it, publishes it, and hands you a link — no fetching, no extra reading.

Prefer to skip the AI and use the site directly?

doodlebox also works entirely in the browser — no AI, no prompt.

Full detail: Using the site.

Advanced: reuse your account

Publishing more, or updating — Already have an api_key from an earlier publish in this conversation? Just tell Claude to reuse it (via an Authorization: Bearer header) — "publish another one, same account" or "update it, use this api key...". No need to come back here.

Use this prompt when you want to work locally with a copy of everything you have published.

I want to download a local copy of all my Doodlebox projects.

Read first:
https://doodlebox.app/llms.txt

Use the account export API:

GET https://doodlebox.app/api/v1/export

My Doodlebox api_key is:
XXXXX

Use this key only as:
Authorization: Bearer XXXXX

This is a read-only task. Never show, print, record in shell history, put the key in a URL, save the key to files, or publish/update any project.

Download the exported ZIP and extract it into this workspace, preserving the project structure and all binary files.

When finished, report:
- where the files were extracted;
- how many projects were downloaded;
- which files were created;
- any error encountered.
